OBITUARY
INNA LILLAHI WA INNA ILAYHI RAJIOON
"To Allah we belong, and to Him is our return". (Al-Baqarah 2:156)
Death Leaves A Sadness No One Can Heal
Love Leaves A Memory No One Can Steal
It is with great sadness that we share the news of the demise of Marhooma Zainab A. Esmail who passed away on Monday 19th October and was buried on 20th October, 2009 in Dar-es-Salaam.
Mrs. Esmail started her career as a teacher at Mtendeni Primary School before joining Olympio Primary School. At Olympio Primary School, she went the ‘Extra Mile’ and took good care of our community students studying at the School.
In 1996, an opportunity arose and she decided to join our Al Muntazir Boys Primary where she taught math for 4 years and was transferred to the Al Muntazir Islamic Seminary where she was teaching Math to the Form One’s and Two’s. Besides her teaching career, she was allocated the responsible post of In charge of Examinations as well as Timetable Officer.
Her commitment to the School made her one of the most dedicated teacher when it came to take care of any extra duties or remedial classes after school hours. She always maintained her belief that this was her way to make a difference in the lives of this young generation of our community.
As a class teacher of Form 1 she got the opportunity to advice new students how to adapt to the new environment and the secondary school
She remained with the Islamic Seminary up to the time of her demise. She was more than just a teacher. She was a wonderful person; very committed faithful and devoted to the call of duty with a smiling face. A previous colleague who was by her side a few hours before she passed away quotes her, “I want to go home and back to work, I miss the school." Her commitment to work was so obvious.
Her passing away will not only leave a void at the Seminary, but also in the hearts of all those who knew and loved her.
May the Almighty place her Soul in Jaware Ma’sumeen, Ameen

For the Form 1 Orientation, after the Principal’s opening speech, the Head of Academics at ALMIS talked to the children explaining them the difference between Primary and Secondary education. He explained to them that there was more efforts needed for Secondary and a lot of self study would be required. After the lecture, the students were taken to their class accompanied by their class teachers for roll call.
For the Form 5 Orientation, a similar program was set except for the fact that details of the CIE A Levels syllabus was explained including examination structure and importance of each subject.
At the end of the session, the students were led to their respective classes after getting a feel of the canteen at break time.
A mixture of excitement and anxiety on the faces of their children was noticed as their minds started wondering what was in store for them, however, the teachers working closely with the prefect body ensured the students’ anxieties were comforted appropriately.
