Our main emphasis is
on the experience each child gains while doing, rather
than how expertly it was done. We provide learning
experiences that cater to the development of social,
cognitive, motor, language and self-help skills such
as through sand play, water play, and art & craft.
A recent landmark in AMUNS history is the addition
of a swimming pool which each and every child thoroughly
enjoys.
At AMUNS we have a variety of programs such as the
Annual Stage Program, Sports day, Swimming Gala, Fun
Fair. These are a refreshing change from class work
and also allow children to build their confidence
and develop their aesthetic and athletic skills further.
Field Trips are arranged to places related to the
topic being discussed. These are greatly looked forward
to by the students and play a great part in making
learning fun and fruitful
We maintain a very well equipped library, of about
4,000 books, which fully caters for the teaching needs
of our teachers as well as provides reading material
for our students. Our children also enjoy audio visual
periods in the library.
The school maintains a well equipped clinic and
has employed a qualified full time nurse to look after
the health and to have daily routine health checkups
i.e. height, weight, etc. of these tiny tots, give
first aid when required and to maintain and upkeep
their health records. She even demonstrates the simple
routine health upkeeps.
Besides providing the best standards for our students,
we are also continuously involved in activities which
will further our teachers’ knowledge and experience.
We are aware that the field of education is evolving
on a continual basis and to keep up with that our
teachers host as well as attend regular workshops
and training sessions.
At AMUNS, parents are encouraged to be involved in
their child’s first, school experience. During
Open Day and parent-teacher meets, the child’s
progress at work and at play is shared with the parents.
At the end of each term report cards are issued which
reflect the students’ understanding and experiences
of the various activities done in school. By capturing
growth over time, it is possible to see patterns of
each child’s individual strengths and achievements.
We appreciate the strengths of each child and will
continue to support them.
